Portland Design Works Magic Flute
- March
- 5
I've worked in bike shops now for almost 30 years, and sometimes I have a hard time getting excited about new products in some of the more mundane categories, such as mini pumps. Until now that is. The PDW Magic Flute doubles as both a Co2 inflator and a mini pump. Co2 is great, until you run out of cartridges, in which case the mini pump feature may save you a long walk home. There are other combo pumps out there, but none as beautiful and well designed as this one. $50 retail. We sell it for $46.99. Check it out here.

Front and rear tires have different tasks. Steering and braking forces are transmitted on the front, Whilst the rear transmits the driving forces and bears the majority of the cyclist's weight. Subsequently, the two tires in the Continental tire positioning system (TPS) have been designed differently. Read more here.

New car racks
- February
- 16
We have a couple of new items in our auto rack area. Saris has designed an inexpensive and simple one-bike car rack that retails for only $50. It's a great solution for riders who don't frequently use a car rack, but need one on occasion. See if the Saris Solo will fit your vehicle here.
Also, our local pals at Kuat have developed a very nice tray-style receiver hitch rack that has a built-in workstand. Great for those pre-ride adjustments or post-ride cleaning. Kuat quality is second to none, and they do Springfield proud. See the Kuat NV here
